R - Repetition
The colors are used throughout the whole image; as well as the repeated squares/shapes inside the head

A - Alignment
The image is aligned completely - also leads the eye to the center

P - Proximity
Squares inside squares; leads the eye as well(alignment)
Title/director grouped together
Credits grouped together

Citing Images

Thai National Parks. Dusky leaf monkey (Trachypithecus obscurus), 2013. Photograph. Kaeng Krachan National Park, Thailand.
  1. What did you already know about copyright law?
  2. What surprised you?
  3. Do you think the law is fair? Why or why not?

  1. All images online are copyrighted, permission is needed to use a photo, fair use regulations
  2. Nothing really stood out as surprising
  3. I think the law is completely fair, as it protects artists and their work. Without these laws in place an artist or photographers work could easily be stolen with no repercussions.

Straightening

Image 1 - Straightening

In this lesson, straightening and image and then cropping was learned. Selecting the paint dropper and then the Ruler tool, a stright line following the horizon was selected and the option to straighten was clicked. This straightened the image. The straightened image was then cropped to remove the border that resulted from the straightening, and focal points were highlighted using the rule of thirds.

Image 2 - Straightening

Following the same steps as before, the image was straightened and then cropped to create a more visually appealing image that focuses on the main event in the photo - the children playing soccer. Outside bystanders were cropped out to focus on the action.

Smart Object

Smart Object Lesson -
In this lesson, the difference between a Smart Object and Regular object was learned.
The layer marked "Regular" was scaled to a small size, and then scaled back to the normal size. This resulted in a huge loss of image quality.
However, in the layer marked "Smart Object" the layer was right clicked, and made into a smart object by selecting 'Smart Object". This allowed for the image to be scaled freely with no image quality loss.

Free Transform

Free Transform Lesson -

Using Command+T, free form selection was used. Holding command, I adjusted the perspective of the image.

Crop 3

Crop 3 Lesson - Perspective

In this lesson, the cropping of an image paired with correction of its perspective was learned.
Using the crop tool, a selection was made around the piece of art. The borders were then adjusted using the perspective tool paired with the crop tool. The end piece results in a cropped image with a corrected perspective.

Crop 2

Crop 2 Lesson - Canvas

In this lesson, extending the border of an image was learned. Using the crop tool, a selection larger than the picture was made, and then applied. Before the application of the extended crop border, the bottom of the border was extended to make a photo-card like effect. This created a white border, which was filled with a dark red color, as per tutorial instructions.

Crop 1

Crop 1 Lesson -

In this lesson, the cropping of a photo using photoshop was learned.
Photo 1 (top) was the original image, which was cropped to photo 2 (bottom)

Using the cropping option in photoshop with a rule of thirds grid, the photo was made smaller while focal points of the image were highlighted with the rule of thirds.
